Overview:

Inuka is working with a leading cold storage firm that designs, develops, and finances efficient pre-cooling and cold chain technology for fresh products and perishables across industries in Africa and other emerging markets. The company is looking for a Lead Accountant who will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing day-to-day transactions, and ensuring compliance with various regulations. You will contribute to budget development, collaborate with auditors, and provide valuable insights through financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong analytical skills, and thrive in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy in general ledger entries.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and payments.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor budget variances and provide insights to management.
• Prepare and file accurate and timely tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
• Address audit queries and implement recommendations for process improvement.
• Conduct financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide insightful recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
