We have partnered with a leading pan-African private equity firm with one of the most experienced African PE teams who are looking to recruit a Senior Associate to join their team in Nairobi. The Senior Associate will play a crucial role in the evaluation, execution and management of private equity investments across various sectors in Africa. The positions offers and exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about creating meaningful impact in emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing and Evaluation:

• Identify and assess potential investment opportunities in Africa through market research and networking.
• Conduct thorough due diligence, including financial analysis, industry research, and risk assessment.
• Prepare investment memos and present findings to the investment committee.

Transaction Execution:

• Collaborate with senior team members in structuring and negotiating investment deals.
• Assist in drafting legal documents and agreements.
• Manage the closing process, ensuring all required documentation is complete.

Portfolio Management:

• Monitor and actively manage portfolio companies, tracking financial performance and operational metrics.
• Work with portfolio company management teams to drive value creation initiatives.
• Assist in the development and implementation of exit strategies.

Market Research and Analysis:

• Stay updated on industry trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes in African markets.
• Provide insights and analysis to support investment decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience in private equity or direct investing
• Strong financial modelling and analysis skills.
• Knowledge of African markets and the ability to evaluate investment opportunities within the region.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
