The opportunity
Our client is a growing African investment platform seeking a Senior Investment Associate / Senior Dealmaker to support its renewable energy and private credit businesses. The role will sit across solar investment, debt structuring, and private credit, contributing to the growth of the broader investment platform.
Responsibilities
- Originate, assess, and execute solar and private credit transactions.
- Build and review financial models, investment papers, and transaction structures.
- Lead commercial, financial, and credit due diligence.
- Support mezzanine and debt financing transactions across a range of ticket sizes.
- Manage relationships with investors, advisers, counterparties, and management teams.
- Contribute to portfolio monitoring and investment committee processes.
- Support the growth of the private credit platform and wider investment strategy.
Requirements
- 3–10 years of experience in investment banking, corporate finance, restructuring, private credit, infrastructure, or renewable energy.
- CA(SA) strongly preferred; CFA or equivalent considered.
- Strong financial modelling, credit analysis, and transaction execution skills.
- Good understanding of debt structuring and investment risk.
- Commercial, analytical, and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Comfortable working across investment and operating environments.
