The opportunity
Our client is a renewable energy company seeking a Regional Project Manager to lead strategic projects across West Africa. The role will oversee the full project lifecycle, coordinate multicultural teams, and ensure projects are delivered to agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and impact objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead projects from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and close-out.
- Develop regional project strategies, work plans, budgets, and delivery plans with country teams.
- Coordinate project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and regional teams.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- Manage relationships with governments, donors, NGOs, private sector partners, and local communities.
- Ensure project compliance, quality, sustainability, and effective handover.
- Lead reporting and communication with senior leadership, donors, and regional stakeholders.
- Drive knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption across country offices.
- Represent the organisation at regional forums and working groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within renewable energy and West Africa or other developing markets.
- Strong technical and engineering project management background.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Experience working with governments, donors, NGOs, and other external stakeholders.
- Strong planning, organisational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English and French.
- Proficiency in project management tools.
- Willingness to travel frequently across West Africa.
