The opportunity
Our client is an international investment advisory firm focused on emerging markets, seeking a Managing Director based in Lagos. The role will lead advisory engagements, drive business growth, manage a team of investment professionals, and oversee the strategic and financial performance of the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead transaction advisory engagements, including investment analysis, due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring.
- Drive business development across private sector, government, and donor-funded opportunities.
- Build relationships with investors, DFIs, corporates, and government stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the investment team.
- Oversee business strategy, P&L, client relationships, and transaction execution.
- Represent the firm at industry events and strengthen its regional presence.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in investment advisory, investment banking, private equity, strategy consulting, or development finance.
- MBA, MSc, or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Strong track record in transaction execution, business development, and client management.
- Experience leading teams, managing P&L, and driving business strategy.
- Established network across Nigerian and African investment markets preferred.
- Experience in fundraising and emerging markets advantageous.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
