The opportunity
Our client is a renewable energy platform seeking an ESG Manager to support renewable energy projects in Vietnam. The role will serve as the on-site focal point for ESG and community matters, working closely with project teams, local authorities, communities, contractors, and corporate sustainability teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead community and stakeholder engagement, including consultations with affected communities and local authorities.
- Manage the project’s grievance mechanism and support the resolution of community and worker concerns.
- Support resettlement, land, livelihood, and community development initiatives.
- Monitor ESG, environmental, sustainability, and community KPIs, including GHG emissions, energy, water, and waste.
- Track permits, regulatory requirements, ESAP actions, and other environmental and social commitments.
- Support ESG, E&S, and regulatory reporting and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Provide day-to-day ESG and sustainability support to the project team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Social Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability, community relations, environmental compliance, or social performance.
- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction preferred.
- Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and grievance management.
- Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and ESG frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Vietnamese environmental, labour, and safety regulations.
- Fluent Vietnamese and working proficiency in English.
