Country Manager
The company is a prominent player in the automotive industry with a focus on promoting the adoption of e-mobility vehicles. The firm is looking for a Country Manager to spearhead market leadership, cultivate key relationships to drive business growth, enhance market position, and foster growth, engagement, and retention among drivers and riders. This role also involves overseeing a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial and strategic planning process and be responsible for its implementation
- Define, implement and optimize local business and operational strategies/goals with the local operations team
- Advocating and elevating the firms brand, product and service by working closely with local authorities and policy makers.
- Expand the presence and services across the country
- Establish strategic partnerships with local fleet owners and other relevant businesses/entities
- Identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities on a local level that may impact the business
- Advise and closely collaborate with HQ teams such as Product, Legal or Marketing to develop and execute key initiatives that drives growth and efficiency
- Take ownership of the firms growth in South Africa by ensuring both local operations and HQ teams support and collaborate actively with each other to meet business goals
Qualifications
- 7-15 years of experience in operations or general management
- Strong leadership, collaboration, negotiation, and communication skills
- Resilience and persistence in overcoming obstacles
- Highly analytical with a data-driven mindset and proficiency in Excel
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or related field
- Passion for new technologies and ride-sharing
- Strong ownership mentality and hands-on approach
- Comfortable developing business frameworks
- Experience in consulting, sharing economy, tech, transport, startup, or high-growth company
- MBA or Master’s Degree preferred
- Experience in product launches or business management
