The opportunity

Our client is a leading renewable energy company looking to recruit a Contracts Manager based in Johannesburg. The role will manage key project contracts and provide commercial and contractual support across construction, operations, procurement, finance, and legal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage EPC, O&M, PPA, LTSA, consultancy, and other project agreements.
  • Track contractual obligations, notices, compliance, and key deliverables.
  • Lead the assessment and management of claims, variations, and disputes.
  • Support procurement, contract negotiations, payment reviews, and commercial evaluations.
  • Maintain contract, claims, variation, and obligations registers and reporting.
  • Provide practical contractual advice to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support contract close-out and continuous improvement of contract management processes.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Commercial Management, or Project Management.
  • 7–10 years of experience in contract management, construction, infrastructure, energy, or renewable energy.
  • Strong experience with EPC, O&M, NEC, FIDIC, PPA, and LTSA agreements.
  • Proven experience managing claims, variations, contractual notices, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong commercial judgement, contract interpretation, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working with contractors, lenders, legal counsel, consultants, and project stakeholders preferred.
